Welcome to the Office of the Auditor of the Court of Session

This office was established by Act of Sederunt, in February 1806.  The Auditor was made a permanent official and a Member of the College of Justice in 1821.  The Auditor is now appointed under Section 25 of the Administration of Justice (Scotland) Act 1933.  The Auditor’s independence is guaranteed by virtue of his appointment by the Secretary of State for Scotland.Image

IMPORTANT NOTICE

To assist with the ongoing redevelopment works within Parliament House, the Auditor's office has been relocated to a different part of the building.

Access to the office will most readily be obtained by means of the entrance door numbered 120 The Cowgate, which is situated at the corner of The Cowgate and Old Fish Market Close.

The office postal address, telephone number and fax number will remain unchanged.
